MANASSAS, Va. (WUSA) - A Fairfax County Police Dept. employee has been arrested and charged with forcible sodomy, according to police.
James Craig Summers, 55, of Burke, Va. was arrested on May 8 as a result of a police investigation that began May 3. Police were investigating the report of a sexual assault that the victim told police had taken place at a home in Manassas between Sept 1-Oct. 21 in 2009.
The victim, a 42 year old Manassas woman, told police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a relationship. She said that on one occasion during the Sept-Oct. 2009 timeframe, Summers came to her residence and sexually assaulted her, then left her home.
After the police investigation, Summers was subsequently arrested on May 8th. Summers is an employee of the Fairfax County Police Department. He was held without bond with a court date set for July 18.
