ROSSLYN, Va. (WUSA) - Metro officials have confirmed that a Blue Line train has derailed outside of the Rosslyn station.
A single wheel set on the train derailed. A Metro spokesman said there were no injuries reported, and that the train was evacuated. The derailment happened about 7 p.m. on the Blue Line route which travels from Franconia-Springfield in Virginia to Maryland's Largo Town Center stop.
Service was temporarily suspended, but trains on the Blue and Orange lines are now single tracking around the incident. Delays in both directions are expected.
Metro reported at 10:50 p.m. that Blue Line trains are still single tracking between Foggy Bottom and Arlington Cemetery, and the Orange Line is single tracking between Foggy Bottom and Clarendon due to the derailment, but that no delays to late-night service are expected.
