UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (WUSA) -- Prince George's County council woman Karen Toles has been cited for reckless driving in the February 22 case, when she was pulled over by police for an improper lane change.
Sources had told 9News Now that she was traveling at around 105 mph when she was pulled over. Tuesday, police said the officer's GPS device in his car tracked Toles at that speed. However, that GPS device is not used to issue citations.
Toles will now have to pay a total of $600 in tickets, $510 for the reckless driving citation, and $90 for the improper lane change.
She will be issued six points on her license for the reckless driving citation as well as up to two points for the improper lane change, police said.
