WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- A respectable performance from the Wizards ended in a 108-104 defeat Friday night at the Verizon Center. Washington had chances to steal a win from Denver in the fourth quarter, but one of Al Harrington's five three-pointers sunk the Wizards to their 13th defeat.

Here is what the Wizards had to say. Andray Blatche did escape before reporters could grill him on his stinky outing (two points, 0-for-7 shooting). More reaction from me in the AM.

"Now we are competing at a good level. Now we have to put ourselves in a position to close out games." Flip Saunders

"This one hurt. We felt we was actually better than this team tonight. We shot ourselves in the foot." Jordan Crawford

"I didn't really control the game like I did against [OKC Thunder]." John Wall on what went wrong

"It's killing me, it's throbbing. I'm just going to fight through it." Nick Young on injuring his wrist

"The pace that they played at, that's how they always play. We don't always play at that pace. It seemed like guys got a little bit winded." Flip Saunders

"The kind of style that they play, we are trying to get to that level without turning the ball over and taking good shots." Shelvin Mack

"We just have to take [this kind of play] on the road. The main thing we want to do is give ourselves a chance." John Wallon the recent encouraging play

"They built a team with guys who can knockdown threes. We took some three's kind of late that we really didn't need to. So we got caught up in there game." Flip Saunders

"Harrington killed us. We had a great defensive sequence and he throws it up from 30-feet and it goes in. I can't fault our effort. I thought we played hard." Flip Saunders

"It was a big-time shot by a big-time player." Jordan Crawford on Al Harrington's dagger three

"He's trying to be too methodical. He's got to make quicker decisions." Flip Saunders on Andray Blatche's struggles

"We haven't been in [close game] situations like that this year." Flip Saunders

"My attitude is just to try and improve each and every day. Whether I am playing or not playing; you got to continue to work hard." Shelvin Mack

"We have to manage the game better when we get offensive rebounds." Jordan Crawford

"We let this one slip away." Nick Young

"It would've been good to get a [triple-double] but I'd rather have the win." John Wall on his good statistical performance
