BETHESDA, Md., (WUSA) -- Parents who havebike buggies to take their child for a spin should stop using them immediately.

TheConsumer Product Safety Commission has recalled about 44,000 ofthe Chariot bicycle trailers and 70,000of its bike trailer conversion kits.

The trailer's hitch compartment poses a injury hazard to children because it can break causing it to detach from the bike.

The trailers, priced from $200 to $925, sold nationwide at specialty bike stores and online from December 2005 through August 2010.

The conversion kits, priced from $40 to $70, were sold from October 2002 through August 2011.
