WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Wednesday, panda cub Bao Bao enjoyed some time outside at the Smithsonian National Zoo in Washington, D.C.
She made her first excursion outside at the David M. Rubenstein Family Giant Panda Habitat with Mei Xiang on April 1.
Wednesday, Mei Xiang stood by as Bao Bao climbed a tree in the outside pen. WUSA9 photojournalist Kevin King took video as the cub hung out in the branches.
Keepers give Bao Bao and Mei Xiang access outside each morning, but it's Bao Bao's choice whether or not to go outside.
The panda house is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You can also see Bao Bao on the panda cam here: http://nationalzoo.si.edu/animals/webcams/giant-panda.cfm
