FALKIRK, SCOTLAND (GETTY) -- Work continues on The Kelpies sculptures at the eastern entrance to the Forth and Clyde canal.

The two Kelpie heads are positioned at a specially constructed canal lock and basin part of the Helix project, each weighing 300 tons and standing 100 feet tall.

The structure was designed by sculptor Andy Scott as a monument to horse powered heritage across Central Scotland.
