WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- The story is out of Louisville Kentucky.

That's where FOX affiliate WDRB is reportedly going to stop or at least cut way back on the term 'Breaking News', claiming it's been slapped up in graphics and breathlessly spit out by so many anchors so many times a day that it has become tough to take it seriously.

When we posted the story on our WUSA9 Facebook page dozens of you cheered and begged other stations to follow suit.

But you know what? I can't hate you for it.

Let's be real: We have overdone it.

But the problem is not that you hate breaking news, in fact you like it.It's just that you want it to be on par with a terror attack or the approach of a major storm and sometimes what we end up calling breaking news --If we're honest about it -- just does not measure up to that standard.

Personally, I think the message from you is pretty simple: when its real and serious, give us the breaking news and all that comes with it, but if its not quite that urgent or you're not quite sure then just say 'here's something that happened and we thought you ought to know'.

I can work with that.
