Memphis, TN (Sports Network) - Marin Cilic outlasted Ivan Dodig in three sets
on Monday at the $1.212 million U.S. National Indoor Tennis Championships.
The top-seeded Cilic rallied for a 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 victory at The Racquet Club
of Memphis.
In a battle between Americans Rhyne Williams and Steve Johnson, it was
Williams who came away with the 7-6, (7-4), 6-4 victory in 1 hour, 31 minutes,
Meanwhile, Poland's Lukasz Kubot popped 11 aces and fought past American Ryan
Harrison 6-4, 6-7 (4-7), 7-6 (7-2) in 2 hours, 37 minutes and 20 seconds.
This week's second seed is last week's San Jose winner Milos Raonic, who was
last year's Memphis runner-up to Jurgen Melzer. Raonic has been the runner-up
the last two years in Memphis.
The 2013 Memphis champ will claim $291,800.
