Quebec City, QC (Sports Network) - Belgian Kirsten Flipkens topped eighth-
seeded Czech Lucie Hradecka in straight sets on Sunday to win the Bell
Challenge tennis event.
Flipkens, who defeated both the top seed and the third seed en route to the
final, finished off an impressive week with a 6-1, 7-5 triumph to capture her
first career title.
Hradecka fell to 0-5 lifetime in WTA finals. She last reached a title match
last year in Barcelona.
The 26-year-old Flipkens earned a first prize of $37,000.
