Washington, DC (Sports Network) - Top-seeded American Mardy Fish was a second-
round winner Thursday at the $1 million Citi Open tennis event.
Fish handled Lithuanian wild card Ricardas Berankis 6-3, 6-1 on the hardcourts
at William H.G. FitzGerald Tennis Center.
The world No. 15 Fish will face Belgium's Xavier Malisse in the quarterfinals.
Malisse moved on with a 6-3, 6-2 win over sixth-seeded Frenchman Jeremy
Eighth-seeded American Sam Querrey, who beat Berankis in last week's final in
Los Angeles, advanced with a 6-4, 6-3 triumph over Germany's Benjamin Becker.
Querrey will meet Kevin Anderson in the quarterfinals after the third-seeded
South African posted a 6-4, 6-4 victory over French qualifier Florent Serra.
The 2012 D.C. winner will collect $252,600.
