(WUSA) -- The Washington Capitals have placed Alex Ovechkin on injured reserve.
Ovechkin is still nursing an upper body injury that he suffered Sunday against Columbus.
No timetable has been set for Ovechkin's return, but he could return Wednesday against the New york Islanders.
Right winger Eric Fehr will take Ovechkin's spot on the roster.
