ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) -- The Baltimore Orioles have purchased the contract of first baseman Michael Aubrey from Triple-A Norfolk.
The move was made before Tuesday night's game against Tampa Bay. He replaces Aubrey Huff, who was traded to Detroit Monday, on the roster.
Orioles manager Dave Trembley said Aubrey will get playing time at first and designated hitter.
Also, closer Jim Johnson has returned to Baltimore for the birth of his child. Right-hander Danys Baez will serve as the closer for Tuesday's game with the Rays.
