Washington, DC (Sports Network) - Nicklas Backstrom had a goal and an assist
as the Washington Capitals held off the Philadelphia Flyers, 3-2, on Friday.
Troy Brouwer and Wojtek Wolski also scored for the Capitals, who snapped a
two-game skid. Braden Holtby made 29 saves.
Bruno Gervais and Brayden Schenn lit the lamp for the Flyers, who have lost
three in a row to fall to 2-6-0 on the season. Ilya Bryzgalov stopped 23-of-26
shots.
