Pittsburgh, PA (Sports Network) - The Philadelphia Flyers were without
defenseman Nicklas Grossman for Game 5 of their Eastern Conference
quarterfinal series against the Penguins in Pittsburgh on Friday.
Grossman suffered what the team has termed as an upper-body injury, but is
believed to be a concussion, in Game 4 on Wednesday, which the Flyers lost
10-3.
Erik Gustafsson took Grossman's spot on the roster. He posted one goal and
four assists with a plus-12 over 30 games this season with the Flyers.
Also in the lineup for the Flyers was forward James Van Riemsdyk, who has
not played since March 1 as he sat out 23 straight games after getting
surgery to repair a broken bone in his left foot. He had 11 goals and 13
assists in 43 games this season, his third in the NHL.
The Flyers lost the game, 3-2, and now lead the best-of-seven series, 3-2,
with Game 6 set for Sunday at noon in Philly.
