Kansas City, MO (Sports Network) - The dominos continue to fall in the AFC
West.
A day after the Denver Broncos snared star slot receiver Wes Welker, the
Kansas City Chiefs countered by signing one of the best cornerbacks available
in free agency, former Miami Dolphin Sean Smith.
The 25-year-old Smith agreed to a three-year deal, confirmed by his agent
David Canter on Twitter.
A former second-round pick out of Utah, Smith leaves South Florida after
recording two interceptions in each of the past two seasons.
He joins Brandon Flowers and fellow free agent pickup Dunta Robinson to form
an impressive trio of corners for new Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, one which
hopes to match up with the talented triumvirate of receivers Denver has in
Welker, Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker.
