San Diego, CA (Sports Network) - Kyle Boller decided to call it a career on Saturday.

The 31-year-old Boller, who signed a one-year contract with the San Diego Chargers on Friday, played in seven games with the Oakland Raiders over the past two seasons, starting one, and threw for 186 yards on 32 attempts with no touchdowns and four interceptions.

"I met with him this morning and he does not want to continue to play football," Chargers head coach Norv Turner said in a press conference.

Boller, the 19th overall selection in the 2003 draft by the Baltimore Ravens, completed 56.7 percent of his passes in eight seasons with the Ravens, Rams and Raiders. He has thrown for 8,931 yards in 67 games -- 47 starts -- and tossed 48 touchdowns and 54 picks.

His best statistical season was in 2004, when he threw for 2,559 yards and 13 touchdowns with 11 interceptions, leading the Ravens to a 9-7 record.

Boller finishes his career with a 20-27 record as a starter in the regular season and an 0-2 mark in the playoffs.
