Washington, DC (Sports Network) - Ashja Jones recorded a double-double Friday
night with 20 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Connecticut Sun over the
Washington Mystics, 77-64, at Verizon Center.
Mistie Mims added 15 points, while Tina Charles registered a double-double of
her own with 13 points and 10 boards as the Sun earned their sixth-straight
victory over the sliding Mystics.
Washington was led by Monique Currie's 21 points, while Crystal Langhorne
chipped in 11 points, but the last-place Mystics dropped their fifth
consecutive contest.
The Sun came out blazing over the first 10 minutes, shooting nearly 60 percent
in the first quarter to grab a 22-17 lead.
Washington pulled within 36-32 at the break, but Connecticut blew the game
open in the third, outscoring the Mystics 27-12 to take a 19-point lead into
the final frame.
