Washington, DC (Sports Network) - Wizards star rookie Bradley Beal was carried
to the locker room late in the fourth quarter of the team's win over
Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday.
Beal, the third overall pick in last year's draft, went up to block a Thaddeus
Young shot and landed on his teammate's foot when he came down, resulting in
an awkward twist of his left ankle.
The 19-year-old stayed on the floor for several moments before a pair of
teammates helped him to the locker room.
The team is calling it a sprain at this point in time. He will continue to be
evaluated.
Beal scored 14 points before exiting, which was right at his team-high average
coming into the game.
The Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month in December and January has already
set the Wizards rookie record with 81 3-pointers made.
