San Antonio, TX (Sports Network) - Tim Duncan poured in 16 points on 7-of-13
shooting and ripped down 13 rebounds as the San Antonio Spurs topped the
Washington Wizards, 100-85, in the preseason finale for both teams.
Stephen Jackson finished with 16 points and four rebounds, while Tony Parker
added 14 points for the Spurs, who open their regular season schedule on
Oct. 31 in New Orleans.
Kawhi Leonard added 11 points and nine rebounds and Patty Mills donated 10
points in the victory.
Jan Vesely and A.J. Price scored 13 points apiece, Earl Barron finished with a
double-double on 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Jordan Crawford and Trevor
Booker had 11 and 10 points, respectively, for the Wizards, who will begin the
regular season on Oct. 30 in Cleveland.
San Antonio trailed, 50-47, at halftime, but took the lead with a big third
quarter, outscoring the Wizards 27-16. The Spurs rolled through the final
quarter to the victory, leading by as many as 15.
The Spurs limited the Wizards to just 36.9 percent shooting and dominated
inside, outscoring Washington in the paint, 46-26.
