Lakeland, FL (Sports Network) - Alex Avila and Argenis Diaz each drove in a run as the Detroit Tigers edged the Washington Nationals, 2-1, in Grapefruit League action on Sunday.

Rick Porcello gave up three hits and struck out four over five shutout innings to earn the win.

Matt Skole provided the lone run for the Nationals, who saw starter Dan Haren surrender two runs on five hits over four frames.
