Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) - Tony Abreu hit the go-ahead RBI single in the
top of the 14th inning as the Kansas City Royals edged the Cleveland Indians,
7-6, in the middle installment of a three-game series at Progressive Field.
Facing Scott Maine (1-2), Mike Moustakas drew a leadoff walk and went to
second on a wild pitch. Abreu followed and hit a soft fly single up the middle
to plate Moustakas, putting the Royals in front.
Vin Mazzaro (4-3) got the win after allowing just one hit over two scoreless
innings. Kelvin Herrera gave up two hits in the bottom of the 14th, but
worked out of a bases-loaded, no-out jam to notch his third save of the
season.
