Cubs, 6-3, in the rubber match of a three-game series.
Kyle Lohse (16-3) gave up three runs on five hits over six innings and set a
career-high for wins in a season.
David Freese and Carlos Beltran had an RBI apiece for the Cardinals, who
remained 2 1/2 games ahead of the Milwaukee Brewers for the NL's final wild
card spot. Milwaukee defeated the Nationals earlier Sunday.
Justin Germano (2-9) was charged with four runs on 10 hits over 5 2/3 innings
and lost his seventh straight decision.
Alfonso Soriano hit a sixth-inning homer in the loss.
