Boston, MA (Sports Network) - Rajai Davis scored on an Omar Vizquel sacrifice
fly in the top of the ninth, giving the Toronto Blue Jays a 4-3 win and a
series sweep over the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park.
The Red Sox, losers of 11 of their last 12 games, fell to a season-high 15
games below .500. Dustin Pedroia and Jacoby Ellsbury hit homers in the defeat.
On the heels of a four-game slide, the Blue Jays won their fourth game in a
row with Sunday's victory.
Brandon Lyon (2-2) was the winning pitcher for Toronto. He came on with two
away in the eighth inning and forced Pedroia to ground out to short to end the
inning.
Clay Buchholz (11-6) was hit with the loss. He pitched deep into the game for
Boston, lasting 8 2/3 innings, but gave up four runs on seven hits and three
walks.
After allowing a base hit to James Loney in the bottom of the ninth, Toronto
closer Casey Janssen retired the final three batters to earn his 20th save of
the season.
