solo homers to lead the Milwaukee Brewers to a 6-3 win over the St. Louis
Cardinals in the middle test of a three-game set at Busch Stadium.
Carlos Gomez had two hits and a pair of RBI and Corey Hart drove in one and
scored a run for the Brewers, who have won four of their last five.
Mike Fiers (9-7) allowed one run on five hits with three walks and struck out
five over five innings to pick up his third win in four starts.
John Axford stranded a runner in the ninth to earn his 27th save of the year.
Ardon Chambers, Skip Schumaker and Daniel Descalso each drove in a run for the
Cardinals, losers in three straight.
Jake Westbrook (13-11) gave up three runs on seven hits and walked four over
