Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Laynce Nix delivered off the bench with a
game-tying, two-run double in the seventh inning and a pinch-hitting Nate
Schierholtz plated the winning run with a walk-off single in the ninth, as the
Philadelphia Phillies edged the Colorado Rockies, 3-2, at Citizens Bank Park.
Jimmy Rollins worked a walk to begin the home half of the ninth and reached
second base on a sacrifice bunt by Juan Pierre. Rollins and Chase Utley, who
was intentionally walked, both advanced when Colorado reliever Will Harris
(1-1) uncorked a wild pitch.
Schierholtz, hitless in his previous 15 at-bats, ripped Harris' next offering
through the hole on the right side of the infield, sending the Phillies to
their 10th win in 14 games.
