Oakland, CA (Sports Network) - Oakland Athletics third baseman Brandon Inge
was placed on the 15-day disabled list Thursday because of a strained right
shoulder.
Inge was batting just .226 with 11 home runs and 52 RBI in 74 games
with the A's and just .218 overall with 12 home runs and 54 RBI counting his
nine games with the Tigers at the season's outset.
He has been a stable force in the A's lineup, starting a team-leading 74 games
at third base and leading a young Oakland team into the heart of a playoff
race.
Inge originally injured his shoulder on August 11 in Chicago and was shelved
on August 14. He was reinstated on September 1 and drove in a pair of runs on
that date against Boston before reaggravating his shoulder.
