Washington, DC (Sports Network) - Washington Nationals outfielder Jayson Werth
was a late scratch for Sunday's series finale against the St. Louis Cardinals
due to a hamstring problem.
Werth, who has already missed signficant time this season because of a broken
wrist, left Saturday's 10-9 loss to the Cardinals in the ninth inning because
of hamstring cramps.
Werth was set to lead off on Sunday, but was replaced at the top of the
batting order by Roger Bernadina just prior to game time.
Since returning from the disabled list on Aug. 2, Werth is hitting .350 with
a home run and 12 RBI.
