Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - Tampa Bay Rays activated pitcher Jeff Niemann
from the 60-day disabled list on Saturday, in time to make the start in the
third edition of a four-game set against the Blue Jays.
Niemann was put on the 15-day disabled list back on May 15 due to a small
fracture in his right fibula, suffered during a game in Toronto when he took
a line drive off his leg from Adam Lind in the first inning.
Niemann is 2-3 with a 3.38 earned run average in seven starts this season.
In addition, the Rays recalled infielder Reid Brignac, catcher Chris Gimenez,
pitcher Cesar Ramos and outfielder Rich Thompson from Triple-A Durham.
