Arlington, TX (Sports Network) - The Texas Rangers activated pitcher Derek
Holland off the 15-day disabled list on Saturday, and he will start the night
game against the Minnesota Twins.
On the disabled list since June 7, retroactively to June 6, with left shoulder
fatigue, Holland has a 5-4 record with a 5.10 earned run average in 12 games,
11 starts, heading into Saturday's action.
To open up a spot for Holland, the team optioned pitcher Justin Grimm to
Double-A Frisco of the Texas League.
Grimm's contract was purchased from Frisco on June 16 and he earned his first
win in his first Major League start against Houston that day. He is 1-1 with a
10.80 ERA in three games (two starts) this season.
