St. Petersburg, FL (Sports Network) - Tampa Bays Rays ace David Price left
Friday's game against the Detroit Tigers in the eighth inning with an apparent
lower back injury.
Price was sailing along as he had allowed just two runs on five hits and a
walk while striking out seven over seven innings.
Television cameras got a shot of him in the Rays dugout with a heating pad on
his lower back, and when he came out for the eighth, he was unable to get
loose and was removed from the game.
Price entered Friday's game with a 10-4 record and a 2.95 earned-run average
in 16 starts this season.
Jake McGee took over on the mound.
