Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - The Dodgers came from behind for the third
straight day, completing the four-game sweep against the Phillies with a 8-3
win. Aaron Harang (5-3) battled through some early pressure to go six strong
innings, allowing three runs on eight hits. He struck out three and walked
one. James Loney went 2-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored and came up with a
big hit in the Dodgers' three-run come-from-behind sixth inning. The Dodgers
bullpen was stellar once again, holding Philadelphia scoreless in the final
three frames. For the second straight outing, despite being spotted a three-
run lead, Cole Hamels (8-3) was unable to hold the lead. He allowed four runs
-- three earned -- in six innings, gave up six hits and struck out six.

Washington, DC (Sports Network) - R.A. Dickey continued his stellar season by
pitching into the eighth inning, Lucas Duda hit a two-run home run and the New
York Mets avoided a sweep with a 3-1 victory over the Washington Nationals on
Thursday. Dickey (9-1) allowed four hits and two walks while striking out
eight through 7 1/3 innings. He has not allowed a run over his last 24 2/3
innings on the mound. Frank Francisco allowed a leadoff home run to Ryan
Zimmerman in the ninth, but retired the next three batters to earn his 15th
save of the season for the Mets, who snapped a three-game losing streak.
Chien-Ming Wang (1-2) gave up two runs on eight hits and three walks in 5 1/3
innings to take the loss for Washington, which had won three of its last four
games.

Milwaukee, WI (Sports Network) - Norichika Aoki's homer in the 10th inning
lifted the Milwaukee Brewers to a 4-3 win over the Chicago Cubs in the finale
of a three-game series on Thursday. Bryan LaHair's two-run pinch-hit homer in
the eighth gave the Cubs a 3-2 lead. But with two outs in the home half of the
eighth, Corey Hart stroked a ground-rule double to knot the score up at 3-3.
Aoki beat out an infield single then moved to second on a sacrifice bunt
before scoring on Hart's double. Aoki finished the game 3-for-5 with a pair of
solo homers. Hart and George Kottaras each drove in a run for the Brewers,
winners in three of five. John Axford (1-2) threw a perfect ninth and 10th to
get the win. Casey Coleman (0-1) was pegged with the loss after surrendering
the homer to Aoki.

San Diego, CA (Sports Network) - Matt Cain pitched seven solid innings and San
Francisco's offense backed him with three home runs, as the Giants beat the
San Diego Padres, 8-3, in the finale of a three-game series. Cain (7-2) gave
up three unearned runs on seven hits while fanning nine for the Giants, who
have won nine of their past 11 games. The right-hander has won six straight
starts since opening the season with one win in his first five outings. Buster
Posey, Angel Pagan and Gregor Blanco each homered for San Francisco. Pagan
extended his hitting streak to 15 games, while Ryan Theriot went 4-for-5 with
an RBI and run scored. Chase Headley knocked in two runs for the Padres, who
lost the final two games of this series. Jason Marquis (0-1), making his first
start in a San Diego uniform, allowed four runs -- two earned -- on nine hits
over six innings. Marquis, who had six strikeouts, started the season with the
Minnesota Twins and made seven starts -- going 2-4 with an 8.47 earned run
average -- before he was let go on May 28. He signed a minor-league deal with
the Padres a day later and made one start at Double-A San Antonio in the Texas
League before Thursday's call-up to the majors.

three RBI, as the Braves completed a three-game sweep of the Marlins with an
8-2 victory on Thursday. Michael Bourn had three hits, including a three-run
homer, and Jason Heyward crushed a pair of solo shots for Atlanta, which has
gone 6-1 following an eight-game losing streak. Mike Minor (3-4) walked five
and allowed four hits over five innings, but gave up just one run to earn his
first win since April 19. Jose Reyes and Giancarlo Stanton each homered for
the Marlins, who went 0-for-13 with runners in scoring position and left 11 on
base. Miami had won five of six prior to getting swept by its NL East rival.

Cincinnati, OH (Sports Network) - Michael McKenry knocked in the go-ahead run
in the top of the 10th inning and the Pittsburgh Pirates took a 5-4 decision
over the Cincinnati Reds in the finale of a three-game series at Great
American Ball Park. Facing Aroldis Chapman (4-1), Clint Barmes drove a ground-
rule double over the wall in center field to lead off the inning and McKenry
followed by taking a pitch the other way and slicing it into the right-center
field gap to plate Barmes. Joey Votto ripped a double to start the home half
of the inning and Jay Bruce was intentionally walked two batters later,
putting the potential winning run on. Chris Resop got Todd Frazier to foul out
and caught Ryan Ludwick looking at strike three to earn his second career save
and make a winner out of Joel Hanrahan (3-0), who allowed the tying home run
to Ludwick in the ninth.

Houston, TX (Sports Network) - David Freese crushed a grand slam to cap a
seven-run seventh inning and added a two-run homer in the ninth as the St.
Louis Cardinals pounded the Houston Astros, 14-2, in the finale of a three-
game set at Minute Maid Park. Rafael Furcal went 3-for-5 with a pair of RBI,
Carlos Beltran ripped a solo shot, had two RBI and scored twice, Shane
Robinson crushed a two-run homer and Allen Craig added a pair of RBI for the
Cardinals, who have won three of four since dropping five straight. Lance Lynn
(9-2) allowed two runs on six hits over six innings while striking out a
career-high 11 batters to earn the win. With the victory, Lynn moves into a
tie for the major league lead in wins with Mets hurler R. A. Dickey, who beat
the Nationals on Thursday. Jed Lowrie ripped a solo homer and Chris Johnson
had an RBI double for the Astros, losers in 10 of their last 12 contests. J.
A. Happ (4-6) yielded four runs on five hits and five walks with six
strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings to take the loss.
