Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - The San Diego Padres have reinstated outfielder
Carlos Quentin from the 15-day disabled list.
Quentin will make his Padres debut in his first game after missing the first
49 games of the season while recovering from surgery on his right knee.
On December 31, the Padres acquired Quentin from the Chicago White Sox in
exchange for minor league pitchers Simon Castro and Pedro Hernandez.
Over parts of six seasons with the Diamondbacks (2006-07) and White Sox
(2008-11), Quentin has hit .252 with 125 double, 121 home runs, 383 RBI and
321 runs scored in 616 games.
San Diego also optioned outfielder Blake Tekotte to Triple-A Tucson. He was
hitting .133 (2-for-15) in 11 games for the Padres this season.
