Brewers SS Izturis placed on DL

Phoenix, AZ (Sports Network) - The Milwaukee Brewers placed shortstop Cesar Izturis on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left hamstring.

Izturis injured the hamstring in the sixth inning of the Brewers' game against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday.

The 32-year-old is hitting .216 in 31 games this season.
