COLLEGE PARK, Md. (WUSA 9) -- Forwards Devin Moore and Trevor Brown ignited Wise's offense on Saturday night at Comcast Center and helped secure the Pumas' 70-43 victory over Walt Whitman and the 2014 Maryland 4A boys' basketball title.

"We were determined to come here tonight and play well. That was important to us as a program," said Wise head coach Rob Garner. "We always talk about not just winning, but how do we want to win. The guys just followed the game plan to a T."

Moore scored 14 points and Brown finished the night with 15 points.

"It was just a great experience having this moment to share with my brothers, with my friends," said Moore.

This was also a huge night for senior forward Micah Till, who will graduate with a football and basketball state title on his high school sports resume. Till scored the game-winning touchdown in the 2012 Maryland 4A championship, and brought Wise its first football state title in school history.

"From playing on that state championship football team, I knew that what it took was hard work and dedication to the team," said Till, who will play football at N.C. State next year. "I'm thinking about playing baseball," said Till with a laugh when asked if he'd be playing a spring sport to complete a "state championship trifecta."

At halftime, Wise led 42-15, and although the Vikings kicked up their intensity, they couldn't recover from the 27-point deficit. Whitman head coach Chris Lun said the biggest challenge for his players was the Pumas' physicality in the half court.

"We can't win when we have one assist and nine turnovers in the first half," said Lun. Despite the defeat, Whitman's starters were positive about the championship experience and grateful for the encouragement the basketball program received from its school community.

"Our support has been amazing," said Vikings guard Ben Castagnetti. "I think that we put Whitman basketball back on the map."
