WASHINGTON (WUSA9) - Dmitry Orlov will remain in Washington.
The Washington Capitals announced Wednesday that the team re-signed Orlov to a one-year deal worth $2.57 million.
The Capitals defenseman is entering his fifth season with the team. In the 2015-'16 season Orlov played all 82 games for the first time in his career, setting career highs in goals (8), assists (21), points, plus/minus, and game-winning goals.
The native of Russia is playing for team Russia in the 2016 World Cup of Hockey. Team Russia plays Team Finland Thursday to wrap up group play.
