Redskins preseason schedule released: Plays Baltimore for dress rehearsal

With all the big name free agents the Washington Redskins have brought in this off-season there is plenty anticipation to see who the Redskins will play first. The Jay Gruden era will begin at Fedex Field against the New England Patriots week one of the preseason. The date for the Redskins first preseason game has yet to be determined.

The following week the Redskins will host the Cleveland Browns to a nationally televised audience on ESPN. Jon Gruden, Jay's brother, will be calling the game for ESPN. The Redskins won't have to travel far for their "dress rehearsal" as they will play the Baltimore Ravens. The beltway battle has become some what of a preseason tradition, as the two teams have met in six of the last eight preseasons with their last meeting in 2011. The Redskins will close out their preseason at Tampa Bay on August 28th.

The Redskins went 4-0 last preseason only to go 3-13 in the regular season. The NFL plans to release the regular season schedule in mid-April. Last year they released the regular season schedule on April 18.
