Redskins Camp Blog Day 2: The sun shined on a good practice

RICHMOND (WUSA9)—Day two of Redskins training camp was much better than Day one, as the sun broke through and the temperatures cooled down. A perfect day for football.

"Today was sunny, everybody's getting a tan," said Robert Griffin smiling.

Griffin was also pleased with his performance, which was a much improved from his "erratic" effort in the rain yesterday.

"We told the offense, the defense stole our bike yesterday we had to come get it back."

DeSean Jackson spoke with reporters today as well, the wide receiver was one of the main storylines during the offseason with his much publicized split from Philadelphia. He was not in the mood to talk about his former team but he had no problem talking about his new team.

"It's new for everybody so we've had a couple of months into it to learn the offense so I think we all have a good grasp of it and the best thing I can say about it we're putting in the time and effort and we're translating that onto the practice field."

There were two Gruden's on the practice field today. Jay's older brother Jon visited Richmond to talk to area prep coaches and also took in he Redskins' morning session.

"Just to see how the tempo looked, look at the plays it was exciting and it was also a real proud moment for him," said Jon.

"I'm the better athlete number one let's get that clear," said Jay smiling. "Jon is three and a half years older than me and I learned a lot from Jon, everything I've learned in pro football is from him."

There were also many light moment in camp today. Take a look at the attached video of Jerry Rice Jr. rapping!
