Former Terp Torrey Smith visits WUSA

WASHINGTON (WUSA9)--Former Maryland Terrapins star visited WUSA studios Wednesday and the discussion covered more than just football. The Baltimore Ravens wide receiver is returning to his roots, this time in a humanitarian role. The Torrey Smith Foundation will co-host a celebrity all-star charity basketball game at Comcast Center Saturday, March 29th.

"It is special to have an event at Comcast it is special," said Smith.

Several Redskins are scheduled to attend, including DeAngelo Hall.

"He's been talking trash on Twitter. I've got to get back at him today," said Smith smiling.

Ravens players scheduled to attend include Terrell Suggs, Jacoby Jones, and Marlon Brown. Smith will co-host the event along with Ryan Kerrigan, and proceeds will go to both their foundations.

Now the question, can Torrey ball?

"Oh yeah, I can ball. I plan to be very sharp on Saturday and if I'm not i'll go mingle with the fans," says Smith.

Smith says fans of all ages will find the game entertaining.

"The minute they walk in the door there will be a photo booth, face painting as well as a bunch of guys who think they should be in the NBA," said Smith.

Doors open at 4 p.m. Saturday.
