Bulls take game 3 in DC, Wizards lead series 2-1

Wizards 97 Bulls 100

There will be plenty to digest from the first playoff game in DC in six years. From Nene's injection, Dunleavy's shooting the lights out from the three point line, to the controversial calls made by the referees late in the fourth quarter, game three had it all. The games deciding bucket would be a three pointer from Chicago's Jimmy Butler to give the Bulls a 94-91 lead with 24 seconds to go. The Wizards will have to wait to hear from the league if Nene will face any further discipline from his confrontation with Butler that got him ejected early in the fourth quarter. The Wizards will look to rebound on Sunday while the Bulls look to notch up the series.

3rd Quarter recap

Wizards 69 Bulls 72

Trailing by 3 at halftime and facing the possibility of going down 0-3 in the series the Bulls came out in third quarter with their most complete 12 minutes of the game. Mike Dunleavy continues to torment the Wizards from the three point line with 18 of his 29 points coming from treys. Bradley goes into the fourth with four fouls and needs to play and clean and stay on the court. This one, like every game before it, will be coming down to the wire.

First Half Recap

Wizards 51 Bulls 48

Anytime the Bulls think they have momentum in this series the Wizards have snatched it right back. With under four minutes left in the second the Bulls had their biggest lead of the game at six, 48-42, only to allow the Wizards to score the last 9 points of the half giving Washington a 51-48 lead at halftime. John Wall, Bradley Beal, and Trevor Ariza are already in the double digits in points and have carried the Wizards offense. The Bulls have been able to stay in the game with Mike Dunleavy's 16 points and D.J. Augustin and Taj Gibson's combined 16 points off the bench. The Wizards have proved throughout the series they have a plethora of scorers they can rely on. If the Wizards can contain Dunleavy on the perimeter and continue to put Ariza on Augustin they can put themselves in great position to go up 3-0 in the series.

First Quarter Recap

Wizards 30 Bulls 28

There were some whispers coming into game three that the Wizards could be too amped after having a 2-0 lead in the series and hosting a playoff game for the first time in six years. As they did in the first two games of the series, the Wizards proved nay sayers they can handle the pressure getting off to a quick start. John Wall is picking up from where he left off in game two shooting 4 of 7 for 11 points in the first quarter. Chicago's Mike Dunleavy has kept the score close scoring 10 points and hitting both his three point attempts.
