With a little help from mother nature, Stephen Strasburg could pitch in Game 4

Darren explains why you should root for rain Tuesday.

(WUSA9) - So you're down in the dumps after the Nationals wasted another stellar performance from one of their star pitchers. Hopes for a World Series title look bleak as the Nats face elimination in the NLDS. There might be only one way to save the season on Tuesday: an intervention from Mother Nature.

Rain could force a postponement of Game 4, and that could help the Nationals.

If they play Tuesday, Tanner Roark will make the start for the Nationals.

If the game is postponed, Stephen Strasburg would be able to start Wednesday on normal rest.

Obviously, if you're the Nationals, you'd much rather have the best pitcher in baseball over the second half of the season pitch in a must-win game. Also, Strasburg took a no-hitter into the 6th inning in Game 1.

If Stephen Strasburg duplicates his performance in the series opener, you're feeling pretty confident that the series is heading back to Nationals Park.

So Nats fans, pray for rain Tuesday, and a lot of it.
