VIERA, Fla. (AP) - Gio Gonzalez plays the happy-go-lucky role in Washington's rotation.
He calls himself the "yang" to Stephen Strasburg's "yin." Gonzalez is outgoing and gregarious, while Strasburg is low-key and private.
When new manager
Matt Williams decided to needle a player during Monday's pre-workout meeting, it was hardly surprising that Gonzalez was the victim. The manager showed the team an Instagram photo in which Gonzalez proclaimed himself to be fashionably dressed to have "dinner in style."
Of course, Gonzalez also can pitch. He has a 32-16 record with a 3.12 ERA in his two seasons with the Nationals.
