ANACOSTIA, DC (WUSA) -- At Anacostia High School the show of full force at its football game was off the field. At least a dozen DC military reserve showed Friday evening up along with more than a dozen Metropolitan Police for the game tonight against Coolidge High.

The school district was left scrambling after the security company that provides protection, Hawk One Security folded Thursday, leaving employees out of a job and 300 guards out of DC schools.

Asst. Football Coach Marvin Tucker says it was a big difference from this morning when there was a lack of security. But he says Friday night's game with a strong security presence may have been all for show. He says when he visited several other schools that night there was not the same level of security as Anacostia High School. He noticed one or two officers at some schools and under 10 at a third school.

Many parents are left wondering what type of security will be in place next week when students return on Monday.

DC schools could not tell 9NEWS NOW what type of security will be in place Monday.

A spokesman said DC police, who oversee school security, have hired two new firms. But they couldn't say how long it would take to train them.
