BETHESDA, Md. (WUSA9) -- Tiger Woods announced today that he will play at the Quicken Loans National golf tournament in Bethesda.
Woods is the host of the golf tournament at Congressional Country Club.
"After a lot of therapy I have recovered well and will be supporting my foundation next week at the Quicken Loans National. I've just started to hit full shots but it's time to take the next step. I will be a bit rusty but I want to play myself back into competitive shape. Excited for the challenge ahead," Woods wrote on his Facebook page today.
Woods injured his back, then had surgery shortly after hurting himself earlier in the year.
Woods will join an already star-studded field at the tournament. Other notable additions to the field include:
-Davis Love III
-Bo Van Pelt
The Quicken Loans National will air on WUSA9 on Saturday and Sunday (the 28th and 29th of June).
WUSA9 will also have full coverage of all the golf and festivities of the tournament, starting Monday, June 23 at 5 p.m.
