Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) - The NCAA has agreed on a three-year extension with Frisco, Texas, to keep the city as the host of the Division I Football Championship Game.

The extension will run through the championship following the 2015 season. In addition to the city of Frisco, the Southland Conference and the Hunt Sports Group also will continue to serve as hosts.

This season's championship game, to be held Jan. 5 at FCS Dallas Stadium, is the final year of a three-year agreement. The rematch of last season's championship game between North Dakota State and Sam Houston State already is a sellout.

"The committee is excited to announce this extension," said Charlie Cobb, chair of the Division I Football Committee and director of athletics at Appalachian State University. "The entire local community, including the Southland Conference, has really embraced and supported this event. When you combine that enthusiasm with the quality of the stadium, it makes Frisco an outstanding environment for the participating student-athletes, coaches and fans."

In the first two championship games in Frisco, Eastern Washington defeated Delaware before a crowd of 13,027 in January 2011, and North Dakota State defeated Sam Houston State before a sellout 20,586 this past January.
