BAYLOR: The Bears were able to snap their four-game slide on Saturday, as they cruised to a 41-14 win over Kansas for their first conference victory of the season. Nick Florence threw for three touchdowns and also ran for one in the victory. He completed 26-of-42 pass attempts for 367 yards. Glasco Martin (157) and Lache Seastrunk (103) each racked up over 100 yards on the ground. Seastrunk also had 91 yards receiving but it was Terrance Williams and Tevin Reese who were the most productive. Williams hauled in 11 passes for 137 yards and a score while Reese had seven receptions for 97 yards and a touchdown. Defensively, the Bears held KU quarterback Michael Cummings to just 81 yards on 9-of-19 passing while notching a pair of interceptions. Baylor racked up 666 yards of total offense and 32 first downs while Kansas had 342 total yards and 17 first downs. Looking ahead, the Bears may struggle to finish above .500 on the season as the back end of their schedule features Oklahoma, Kansas State, Texas Tech and Oklahoma State.

IOWA STATE: The Cyclones fell at home to Oklahoma over the weekend, 35-20, marking their third loss in the past four games. In fact, they have now dropped 14 in a row against OU. Iowa State was held to just 290 yards of total offense, while the Sooners racked up 593 yards from scrimmage. Oklahoma quarterback Landry Jones carved up the ISU defense for 405 yards and four TDs through the air. The Cyclones defense simply could not get off the field for long stretches, as OU converted 9-of-14 third downs. Steele Jantz had a rough day under center in the loss, completing only 20-of-40 passes for 191 yards and an interception. He was also sacked three times. Coach Paul Rhoads said it wasn't Jantz's best decision-making game, although he remains confident in the signal-caller. Jantz and the Cyclones need to win one of their final three games to become bowl eligible. They'll travel to Texas this week.

KANSAS: One week after nearly pulling off an upset of Texas, the Jayhawks were on the wrong end of a 41-14 final at Baylor. KU has now lost 19 straight games against FBS opponents. The Bears entered the weekend ranked dead-last in the nation in total defense and 118th in scoring defense, yet Kansas managed to score only two first-half touchdowns. Michael Cummings managed just 81 yards passing by completing 9-of-19 attempts while being intercepted twice for Kansas (1-8, 0-6). James Sims rushed for 126 yards and a touchdown on 21 totes. The defense had no answer for Baylor's potent passing game, as Bears' quarterback Nick Florence threw for 367 yards and three touchdowns, while he also ran for another. The Jayhawks allowed two 100-yard rushers and came within three yards of allowing two 100-yard receivers for the day. They'll try to get that elusive first FBS victory at Texas Tech this weekend.

KANSAS STATE: The Wildcats remained No. 2 in the BCS standings thanks to Saturday's 44-30 win over Oklahoma State. Allen Chapman picked off three passes and returned one 29 yards for a touchdown, while John Hubert led the offense with two touchdowns on the ground. However, the biggest storyline to emerge from the game had to do with the health of star quarterback Collin Klein, who left the game in the third quarter with an undisclosed injury and did not return. In fact, coach Bill Snyder offered no specifics about the injury in his postgame remarks. The Heisman frontrunner exited after scoring on a quarterback sneak in the third quarter. He finished the game 16-of-22 for 245 yards and added 17 carries for 64 yards before leaving. Daniel Sims took over under center and went 5-for-6 with 45 yards and added 20 yards on seven carries. Angelo Pease had 72 yards on nine carries, while Chris Harper added five catches for 89 yards for the Wildcats (9-0, 6-0 Big 12), who have won all but two of their games this season by double digits. They'll travel to TCU this week, and the status of Klein is sure to be a popular subject leading up to the game.

OKLAHOMA: The 14th-ranked Sooners rebounded from last week's loss to Notre Dame with a 35-20 victory at Iowa State on Saturday, their 14th consecutive win over the Cyclones. The win was the 145th career victory for Stoops, tying him with Bud Wilkinson for second on the Sooners' all-time victory list. Landry Jones had a field day, as he completed 32-of-45 passes for 405 yards and four touchdowns. Justin Brown caught seven balls for 107 yards and a touchdown, while Brennan Clay added a career-high 157 yards and a score on 24 carries. OU converted 9-of-14 third downs en route to 593 yards of total offense. Defensively, the Sooners held ISU to just 290 total yards. They sacked Cyclones quarterback Steele Jantz three times and limited him to 191 yards and an interception on 20-of-40 passing. Oklahoma could certainly use a similar effort this Saturday against Baylor's high-powered offense.

OKLAHOMA STATE: The Cowboys saw their three-game win streak come to a halt at third-ranked Kansas State over the weekend, as they dropped a 44-30 decision. Freshman quarterback Wes Lunt had a tough day under center, completing just 11-of-20 passes for 184 yards, one score and three interceptions. Lunt, who missed six weeks with a knee injury earlier this season, exited with an injury and was replaced by Clint Chelf, who was also intercepted once. Chelf finished 16-of-27 for 233 yards and a touchdown. Charlie Moore headlined the receiving corps with 135 yards and a TD on seven catches, while Josh Stewart hauled in eight balls for 92 yards in the loss. After scoring the game's first points on Lunt's 54-yard TD strike to Austin Hays, the Wildcats responded with 17 unanswered points, and OSU was never able to recover. The Cowboys lost despite out-gaining KSU, 417-290. The Pokes will host West Virginia this Saturday.

TCU: The Horned Frogs ended a two-game skid by claiming a 39-38 double- overtime victory at No. 23 West Virginia over the weekend. Josh Boyce sent the game into overtime with a 94-yard touchdown reception and then hauled in the game-winning two-point conversion to seal the win. After both teams missed field goals in the first overtime, WVU went ahead on a touchdown in the second extra session. TCU tied things up again just a play later. On a reverse pass play, Brandon Carter threw to a wide-open Corey Fuller for the 25-yard score. The Horned Frogs then went for two and Trevone Boykin rolled right before firing low to Boyce, who was able to get his hands underneath the ball for the conversion. Boyce finished the day with 180 yards and two scores on six receptions. Boykin was 12-of-29 for 254 yards with two touchdowns and an interception, and added 28 yards on 15 carries in the victory. TCU will host No. 3 Kansas State this weekend.

TEXAS: The Longhorns moved to 7-2 with Saturday's 31-22 triumph at Texas Tech. With the victory, UT also climbed to No. 19 in this week's AP poll. Mike Davis caught a pair of touchdown passes, including the game-sealing score in the fourth quarter, to help Texas prevail. Davis finished with 165 yards on four receptions for UT, which has won three straight. David Ash completed 11-of-19 passes for 264 yards and three touchdowns, while Johnathan Gray had 106 yards on 20 carries and 41 yards on two catches. The Longhorns also blocked a kick, the seventh time this season they have done so. UT has not lost to the Red Raiders since Nov. 1, 2008. The 'Horns have won all four of their road games this season, and five straight dating back to last season. Texas improved to 2-2 in games against Top-25 teams this season. One more ranked team remains on the schedule; a road game at No. 3 Kansas State in the regular-season finale. Before that, Texas will take on Iowa State and TCU.

TEXAS TECH: The Red Raiders lost for the second consecutive weekend, as they dropped a 31-22 decision at home to Texas. Despite the setback, Texas Tech is still ranked No. 25 in this week's AP poll. Seth Doege went 26-of-44 through the air for 329 yards and a touchdown in the loss. Eric Ward finished with 126 yards on eight catches, and Darrin Moore hauled in seven passes for 108 yards. Tech made six trips into the red zone and came away with only two touchdowns. Penalties hurt the Red Raiders, as they were whistled nine times for 85 yards, often at critical down and distances. A fourth-quarter touchdown was called back for holding, and Texas Tech's fate was eventually sealed after a 23-yard field goal was blocked. Those penalties and missed opportunities cost the Red Raiders in a game where they held the advantage in first downs (25-18) and total yards (441-427). The team will try to regroup in time for this week's home game against Kansas.

WEST VIRGINIA: The Mountaineers tumbled out of the national rankings following Saturday's 39-38 double-overtime loss to TCU. After starting the season 5-0, WVU has dropped three straight. The Mountaineers gave up the game-tying score on a 94-yard pass and catch with just 1:28 remaining in regulation. On WVU's ensuing possession, Tyler Bitancurt missed a 55-yard field goal with 13 seconds on the clock, and the game went to overtime. After both teams missed field goals in the first overtime, Geno Smith lofted a pass in the left portion of the end zone on the Mountaineers' first play to Stedman Bailey, who beat his defender with a stop-and-go route. However, the Horned Frogs tied it up on the very next play, and they went for two and made it to end the game. Smith threw for 260 yards with three scores and an interception on 32-of-54 efficiency in the loss. Tavon Austin returned a punt 76 yards for a touchdown to give West Virginia a 31-24 lead with 3:19 left in regulation before Boyce knotted the contest two possessions later. WVU travels to Oklahoma State this week.
