AIR FORCE: The Falcons were held to a mere 103 yards rushing on Saturday afternoon, on 43 attempts, as they were easily handled by the Army Black Knights, 41-21, as part of the annual Commander-in-Chief's Trophy competition. Connor Dietz, who ran for one of the team's three touchdowns on the ground as he gained just 37 yards on 10 carries, converted 10-of-17 passes for 185 yards but was intercepted twice. Kale Pearson also got a turn at quarterback for the Falcons, hitting seven of his 11 pass attempts for 50 yards, but he too was intercepted once. The rushing total for the Falcons was their lowest of the season, far below the 366.3 ypg they were generating coming into the week in order to rank second in the nation behind only Army (388.1 ypg). The Falcons are back out on the road this week and back competing against the rest of the Mountain West as they challenge the San Diego State Aztecs at Qualcomm Stadium. Air Force may have lost the last meeting a season ago, 41-27, but the Academy still owns a 19-11 advantage in the all-time series.

BOISE STATE: The Broncos saw their quest to disrupt the BCS come to an end on Saturday night, along with their seven-game win streak as they bowed to San Diego State at home in a rare 21-19 loss on the blue carpet. Right out of the gate, Boise State dug itself a hole as SDSU's Colin Lockett took the opening kickoff the length of the field to give the visitors an early edge and the Aztecs held on from there. BSU appeared poised to tie the game at 7-7, but instead of kicking the PAT, Matt Miller's two-point conversion attempt failed and that turned into the play that would later haunt Boise State. It also didn't help that SDSU was given a short field following a blocked punt, or that Joe Southwick's late attempt at a two-point conversion was intercepted. The Broncos, now out of the AP Poll again, managed a meager 276 yards of total offense on 61 snaps as Southwick converted 20-of-31 passes for 164 yards and a score, while D.J. Harper accounted for 81 yards and two TDs on 20 rushing attempts. The Broncos hit the road for this week's clash with former Western Athletic Conference foe Hawaii. Boise State torched the Warriors in a 42-7 decision two seasons ago, which means BSU now owns a 9-3 edge in the all-time series.

COLORADO STATE: The Rams followed up their 42-27 win over Hawaii in late October with a 31-point effort against Wyoming on the road this past weekend, but in this case the team came up 14 points shy as they suffered their seventh loss in the last eight games. The Rams were led by Conner Smith who threw for a career-high 326 yards and tallied a pair of touchdowns as he converted 13- of-23 passes. Smith was sacked once and had a pass picked off as CSU fell to just 1-4 in conference play. Thomas Coffman caught four passes for a game-high 146 yards and a score, while Donnell Alexander turned 20 rushing attempts into a game-high 114 yards and a TD as well. Guilty of three turnovers in the outing, the Rams still found a way to produce 512 yards of total offense as they averaged 8.8 yards per snap. Back at home this coming weekend, the Rams are scheduled to face off against the UNLV Rebels at Hughes Stadium. CSU owns a 13-6-1 advantage in the all-time series, but last year the team fell to the Rebels in a 38-35 final in Las Vegas.

FRESNO STATE: Derek Carr threw for 304 yards and four touchdowns as the Fresno State Bulldogs cruised to a 45-10 win over the Hawaii Warriors in Mountain West Conference action at Bulldog Stadium on Saturday evening. Carr, who became just the second quarterback in program history to have a pair of 3,000- yard passing campaigns, converted 15-of-23 passes for the Bulldogs as they won their third straight and the fifth in six tries. Robbie Rouse delivered 102 yards and a score on 13 carries, as he became the first running back in FSU history to have three seasons with at least 1,000 yards rushing. Fresno State, which opened the meeting with four straight touchdowns and had 42 points by intermission, has now scored at least 42 points in each of the last three games and is ranked second in the conference and 19th nationally in scoring overall with 38.3 ppg. The Bulldogs hit the road for the last time in the regular season this weekend as they drop in on the Nevada Wolf Pack for a Mountain West Conference showdown between former members of the Western Athletic Conference. Fresno State came up short in last year's meeting, bowing by a score of 45-38, but still the Bulldogs own a 24-15-1 advantage in the all-time series.

HAWAII: The Warriors continued their struggles under new head coach Norm Chow on Saturday as they remained winless this season against opponents from the Football Bowl Subdivision after losing to Fresno State, 45-10, on the road in conference play. Hawaii, which has now dropped six in a row overall and has just a 54-2 win over Lamar early in the campaign to show for its efforts, saw a trio of passers combine to go 21-of-38 for 221 yards, with one interception. Sean Schroeder continues to struggle while attempting to direct the offense as he was sacked five times, leading to a net loss of 21 yards. Jeremy Higgins, who completed all but one of his five pass attempts for 56 yards, accounted for the unit's lone touchdown on a five-yard run. The Warriors face off against a familiar foe this weekend as they host Boise State in Honolulu. Both members of the Western Athletic Conference until last season when the Broncos made the move to the MWC, Hawaii lost the most recent meeting in 2010 by a score of 42-7 which means the team now trails the all-time series, 9-3.

NEVADA: After a break in the action last week, the Wolf Pack gets back to playing football this coming Saturday as they tangle with the Fresno State Bulldogs in Mountain West Conference action at Mackay Stadium in Reno. Last year, when both teams were still members of the WAC, Nevada slipped by with a 45-38 win, but the team continues to trail in the all-time series nonetheless, 24-18-1, according to Nevada records. Despite being inactive for a week, the Pack actually moved up a spot in the national rankings when it comes to total offense, now sitting eighth in the country with 523.2 ypg. The program is also first in the conference and 14th nationally in scoring with 39.6 ppg.

NEW MEXICO: With regular starter B.R. Holbrook unable to take his quarterback position on Saturday, the Lobos instead were forced to go with Cole Gautsche who was also listed as questionable due to injury as they suffered a 35-7 loss at UNLV. Gautsche completed half of his six pass attempts for 43 yards, was sacked once and had a pass picked off as the team fell for the third time in as many games. Kasey Carrier, who entered the week ranked second in the nation in rushing with an average of 138.0 ypg, was limited to just 52 net yards on 18 attempts as UNM rolled to 307 yards and a score on 65 rushing attempts overall. The Lobos line up for the first of consecutive home dates this coming weekend as they host the Wyoming Cowboys in Mountain West Conference play. New Mexico came up short in the most recent matchup last season, 31-10, which means the team also trails in the all-time series, 34-30.

SAN DIEGO STATE: Considering Boise State had the best home record in the nation over the last decade or so, the Aztecs were given little chance of taking down the mighty Broncos on the blue turf on Saturday night, but somehow they made it happen with a 21-19 decision. The Aztecs started off with a bang as Colin Lockett returned the opening kickoff the length of the field to give the visitors an immediate 7-0 edge. The running tandem of Adam Muema and Walter Kazee accounted for 164 yards and two scores on 37 rushing attempts for San Diego State, as the team won for a fifth straight time and defeated a ranked opponent on the road for the first time in 32 opportunities. Defensively, SDSU also blocked a punt and intercepted a two-point conversion attempt late in the meeting to seal the win, even as quarterback Adam Dingwell hit on just 12-of-18 passes for 105 yards. The Aztecs, who are enjoying their longest, single-season win streak since 1995, play their final home game of the regular season this coming weekend as they entertain the Air Force Falcons in Mountain West Conference action at Qualcomm Stadium. SDSU posted a 41-27 win in the most recent meeting last season on the road, but overall the team still trails in the series, 19-11.

UNLV: Bradley Randle ran for two touchdowns and caught another as he guided the Rebels to an overwhelming 35-7 win over visiting New Mexico in Mountain West Conference play at Sam Boyd Stadium. Randle carried the ball 12 times and finished with a game-high 113 yards and also added another 17 yards on his sole reception as UNLV snapped a five-game slide and won for the second time in five tries against the rest of the MWC. Quarterback Nick Sherry completed 17-of-27 passes for 289 yards and two touchdowns, but he was also picked off twice in the decision. Tim Cornett chipped in with 107 yards and one score on nine rushing attempts, and Devante Davis recorded seven catches for 145 yards and a TD through the air for the Rebels. The Rebels head back out on the road this weekend in order to battle the Colorado State Rams in Mountain West Conference action. UNLV posted a 38-35 win in last year's meeting, the team's only league victory in seven tries in 2011, but still the Rebels trail in the all-time series, 13-6-1.

WYOMING: Brett Smith threw for 235 yards and four touchdowns as he guided the Wyoming Cowboys to a 45-31 win over the Colorado State Rams in the 104th installment of the annual Border War at War Memorial Stadium. Smith completed 19-of-32 passes for the Cowboys, as they snapped a four-game slide and won for just the second time this season and the first in Mountain West Conference play. Smith also ran the ball eight times for 27 net yards and a score. Collectively, the Pokes generated 228 yards on the ground and controlled the action for close to 36 minutes, all while allowing Colorado State to average close to nine yards per snap as the visitors posted a massive 512 yards of total offense. Wyoming now ranks 100th in the country in total defense, giving up 455.8 ypg to the competition. The first of back-to-back road games come up for the Cowboys this weekend as they challenge the New Mexico Lobos in Albuquerque. Thanks to a 31-10 win last season at home, Wyoming now leads the all-time series by a 34-30 margin.
