Houston, TX (Sports Network) - Back on track ... in a big way.
Sam Houston State ended a two-game losing streak by routing Texas Southern,
50-6, Thursday night at BBVA Compass Stadium..
Quarterback Brian Bell threw for 209 yards and three touchdowns, including two
to Texas A&M transfer Chance Nelson.
"It's good to get a win," SHSU coach Willie Fritz said after his team evened
its record at 2-2.
"We got a lot of guys on this team not used to losing, particularly two games
in a row. We looked pretty sharp early and got a couple of quick scores. We
had to chance to get a lot of reps for the ones and twos and also the
opportunity for the backups to play."
