Missoula, Montana (Sports Network) - Third-seeded North Dakota earned a 69-52
win over sixth-seeded Southern Utah in the quarterfinals of the Big Sky
Conference Tournament at Dahlberg Arena to advance to the semifinals to face
second-seeded Weber State on Friday.
UND (16-15) has won four in a row after beating SUU for the second time in
less than a week. Troy Huff scored 15 points with seven rebounds and four
steals, while Mitch Wilmer recorded a double-double with 11 points and 14
rebounds to go with four blocks. Aaron Anderson scored 14 points, and Josh
Schuler and Lenny Antwi added 10 points each.
The Thunderbirds (11-20, 8-12) season has come to a close after losing five in
a row to end the year. Jackson Stevenett was the only SUU player to score in
double figures, tallying 15 points but shooting just 5-of-18 from the field
in the process.
UND led 28-25 at halftime after holding SUU to 32.5 percent shooting from the
field in the first half.
In the second half, UND shot 65.2 percent from the floor and went 7-of-11 from
beyond the arc while holding the Thunderbirds to just 25.0 percent shooting
from the floor.
UND won the rebounding battle, 42-35.
