Hall registered a double-double as the third-seed College of Charleston
Cougars grabbed a 68-60 victory over the second-seed Elon Phoenix in the
Southern Conference Tournament semifinals at U.S. Cellular Center.
Hall had 16 points and 10 rebounds and Anthony Thomas chipped in 10 points for
Charleston (24-9) which takes on No. 1 seed Davidson in Monday's title game.
Lucas Troutman had a game-high 23 points, Josh Bonney netted 15 points off
the bench and Tanner Samson contributed 11 points and eight rebounds for Elon
(21-11).
Charleston rolled out to a 25-19 lead at halftime despite shooting below 40
percent from the field as it held Elon to just eight field goals on 29.6
percent shooting.
After the break both teams improved. The Phoenix hit an even 50 percent from
the floor but it wasn't enough to overcome the Cougars who made good on 52
percent from the field including a 4-of-8 effort from beyond the arc.
Charleston outscored Elon both from the 3-point arc (21-9) and the free-throw
line 19-15). Each team collected 28 rebounds.
